apocalypse-uncanny-x-men-toy-biz-1991
The Uncanny X-Men: The Evil Mutants – Apocalypse (Extending Body) (1991 Toy Biz)

Few releases in vintage Marvel collecting carry the weight of Toy Biz's 1991 Uncanny X-Men Series 1 — the line that launched X-Men action figures as a mainstream phenomenon and established Toy Biz as the decade's dominant Marvel licensee. Apocalypse was positioned as the centerpiece villain of that inaugural nine-figure wave, debuting alongside the X-Men Home Video release at peak comic-book mania. For collectors chasing a complete Series 1 run, carded examples of this figure are increasingly difficult to source.

This is a vintage carded example featuring the iconic purple card with bold yellow and green "The Uncanny X-Men" logo and the "Evil Mutants" sub-header. The bubble retains the figure — molded in deep blue with the signature "A" chest emblem — along with the blue accessory weapon arm. The card back showcases the full Series 1 roster across all sub-groups, an Extending Body Action diagram explaining the waist-and-leg slide mechanism that reveals the "Magic Jewel," and a Marvel Universe Series 1 trading card tucked inside the bubble. Card shows edge and corner wear consistent with its age; the bubble remains attached.

As a Series 1 original, this Apocalypse speaks directly to the collector focused on early Toy Biz Marvel releases or the broader 1990s X-Men nostalgia wave. The inclusion of the Marvel Universe Series 1 trading card elevates it beyond a loose find, and the complete card back — documenting vehicles, Danger Rooms, and Supersize figures — makes it a rich snapshot of the line's full scope. A cornerstone piece for any vintage X-Men shelf.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0832/2596/8956/files/image_001_ca542462-c1e8-4967-9485-d51ee6e0b250.jpg?v=1792174969
