This two-pack spotlights mullet-era Superman alongside Krypto, rendered in period-accurate comic styling that speaks directly to fans who lived through that landmark storyline. As a Platinum Edition chase variant within the DC Multiverse Collector Edition sub-line — McFarlane's highest retail tier — it sits a clear step above standard mass-market releases and is meaningfully harder to track down than the base version.

This set is in vintage condition and presented in its original black McFarlane Collector Edition window-box, which remains intact with the large clear blister window giving a full view of both figures and accessories inside. The box back carries striking full-art Return of Superman comic imagery, and the numbered side panel confirms this as Collector Edition 09. The McFarlane Platinum Edition medallion badge is visible on the front. Superman features 22 points of articulation, and community collectors have noted his head is compatible with other DC Multiverse bodies — a welcome bonus for customizers. Alternate hands and a Krypto companion figure with cape round out the contents.

Jay's Toys sources authentic McFarlane Toys products directly, and each item is individually assessed before listing — what you see in these photos is the exact piece you'll receive. The Platinum Edition designation and low production volume make this a display-ready chase piece with real shelf appeal. If you have questions about condition or compatibility, our team is happy to help before or after purchase.
