McQuarrie Signature Series Concept Chewbacca (No. 21) (2007 Hasbro)

Few sub-lines in modern Star Wars collecting carry the prestige of the Ralph McQuarrie Signature Series. Released as part of the 30th Anniversary Collection (2007) to mark Star Wars' three-decade milestone, this wave translated McQuarrie's original pre-production concept sketches for A New Hope directly into 3.75-inch plastic — giving collectors a window into the film that almost was. Concept Chewbacca (#21) is among the most striking entries: a humanoid, armored interpretation of the character rendered before the familiar Wookiee silhouette was ever locked in, and a piece that longtime collectors describe as impossible to let go.

This example is presented on its original 2007 card. The angular black-and-silver card back carries the commemorative "77–07" anniversary mark, a Ralph McQuarrie portrait photo, a full Artist Profile bio panel, and a wave checklist. The bubble houses the figure alongside its rifle — noted by collectors for its strong paint application — and a separately packaged exclusive silver collector coin in its own blister compartment. The card face and bubble show expected vintage display wear consistent with a carded piece of this age; condition specifics are captured in the product grading metafields.

Jay's Toys sources this piece directly and has assessed it firsthand. As an authentic Hasbro release bearing the © 2007 Lucasfilm Ltd. copyright block and "MADE IN CHINA" stamp, it is exactly as represented. Whether you're completing the McQuarrie Signature Series run or adding a singular piece of Star Wars design history to your display, this is a hard figure to find on-card. We stand behind every item we sell — please review our return policy before purchase.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0832/2596/8956/files/image_001_10b12cc4-01c0-4dc2-8d12-4640c81289b5.jpg?v=1789068119
https://www.jaystoysandgames.com/products/star-wars-30th-anniversary-collection-r-mcquarrie-signature-series-concept-chewbacca-no-21-2007-hasbro
