DC Multiverse Batman Earth -32 & Green Lantern Hal Jordan 2-Pack (Dark Nights: Metal) (2020 McFarlane Toys)
Scott Snyder's 'Dark Nights: Metal' event gave collectors one of DC's most unsettling rosters of dark Multiverse Batmen, and no figure from that wave carries more conceptual weight than the Dawnbreaker — Bruce Wayne of Earth -32, a Batman who claimed a Green Lantern ring the night his parents were murdered and let his darkness corrupt its power entirely. This 2020 McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse 2-pack pairs the Dawnbreaker against Hal Jordan, the very Green Lantern whose legacy he twisted, making it one of the most thematically coherent two-packs from the line's foundational era.
From a collector standpoint, this set occupies a genuinely important place in the DC Multiverse catalog. The Dawnbreaker Batman Earth -32 figure has no standalone single-card release — this large-window box 2-pack is the only retail avenue through which the figure was ever sold. For anyone building a complete Dark Nights: Metal villain shelf or tracing the early ambition of McFarlane's DC Multiverse line, this set is a required addition. Both figures are presented at 7-inch scale with the comic-accurate deco and articulation that defined McFarlane's early DC output.
This example is vintage and has not been opened. The cardboard box itself presents well, with the full-bleed black design, 'Dark Nights: Metal' sub-branding printed in mirrored/upside-down text on the bottom spine and bottom panel, and dramatic diorama photography across the back. The back panel also features the trilingual 'Collect Them All' card grid showcasing wave companions. However, buyers should note the condition of the clear plastic display window honestly: scuffing and scratch marks are present on the plastic, dust marks are noticeable on the top of the clamshell window, and a small crack or puncture is present near the bottom right corner of the front display window. The figures and accessories inside remain bagged and undisturbed. This is a vintage collectible sold as-is, and the display wear is reflected in the pricing.
Each figure includes a collectible trading card (English only), a detail noted on the back panel in three languages. The wave companions visible in the card grid on the back panel speak to the depth McFarlane was committing to with this sub-line. As 2-pack box sets from McFarlane's early DC Multiverse run continue to appreciate among completionists, and given the Dawnbreaker's 2-pack-exclusive status, this set represents a meaningful find for Dark Nights collectors.
