Fans of the 2002 Armada era finally have a Commander Class answer to their nostalgia: this Legacy Evolution release reimagines the Autobot leader through the lens of Hasbro's cross-generational Legacy line, which celebrates 40 years of Transformers history by blending design cues from multiple universes into a single ambitious figure. The Armada Universe aesthetic — blocky, powerful, gold-accented armor with an oversized silhouette — is faithfully translated here at Commander scale, making this a standout piece compared to earlier Deluxe or Voyager Optimus releases in the same line.
This unit is factory sealed and unplayed with. In robot mode the figure delivers a fully articulated Commander-scale build with truck kibble integrated across the shoulders, forearms, and lower legs — exactly as shown in our hands-on inspection. Transformation to truck mode runs 20 steps, producing a detailed red cab with clear windshield and chrome-effect grille; hitching on the included trailer adds mass and completes the convoy look. The trailer itself executes a separate 22-step conversion into a deployable battle station with a rotating cannon platform and fold-out support struts, allowing Optimus to stand at its center for a commanding display pose. The ion cannon stores on the trailer roof in truck mode and detaches for robot-mode use.
