Released in 2018 to mark Kurt Angle's long-awaited return to WWE after a decade away, the Mattel Retro line was a love letter to the chunky, stylised LJN WWF figures of the 1980s. This wave — shared with Sheamus, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Jericho — tapped squarely into the nostalgia that adult collectors had been chasing, while the pull-arm Angle Slam action feature kept it true to vintage play-pattern tradition. For fans who grew up with rubber ring figures, this is the definitive modern tribute.
