The rarest piece in Re:Action Figures' six-figure 2000 AD Collectors Series 1, Durham Red — mutant vampire bounty hunter and Strontium Dog alumna — is a must-have for completists of late-'90s British comics merchandising. As the only female figure in the wave, she commands outsized collector demand. Distribution was limited almost entirely to specialist UK comic and hobby shops at the close of the 1990s British comics boom, making any surviving mint-on-card example genuinely scarce.
This example is original 1999 production stock — not a reissue — presented in its blister-on-card format with the full-art cardback displaying vividly. The cardback art is bright and legible throughout, carrying Durham Red's full character bio, complete production credits (character created by John Wagner, Alan Grant, and Carlos Ezquerra; sculpted by Jon Bayliss at Synapse Modelmaking Ltd.), and intact Fleetway/Egmont copyright notices. The bubble shows pronounced yellowing and amber discoloration characteristic of age, with noticeable crimping and wrinkling at the top-left and bottom-right corners — all reflected in the price. The figure and her magnetically holstered Borstin Auto-Chetter handguns remain sealed and undisturbed inside. Collectors can cross-reference the five companion figures — Judge Dredd, Judge Death, Judge Anderson, Slaine, Ukko, and Johnny Alpha — pictured on the reverse.
Sourced and assessed firsthand by the Jay's Toys team, this piece is offered as genuine vintage stock with the card and bubble condition described above clearly photographed. Please review our returns policy before purchasing, as vintage collectibles are sold strictly in the condition described.
