Released in 2011, the game is routinely cited as a high-water mark for superhero gaming, and McFarlane Toys leaned hard into that legacy when they produced this 2022 Gold Label variant — stripping away all color to deliver a stark, monochromatic deco that immediately sets it apart from the standard DC Multiverse release. This is a Walmart-exclusive Gold Label Collection release, a sub-line McFarlane reserved for limited-run, specialty-retailer pieces with a premium collector focus. The box is presented in complete, unopened condition: the fold-open front panel shows no separation, the blister tray inside is intact, and the Gold Label Collection medallion badge on the front face is crisp and undamaged. The window panel reveals the figure and accompanying BAF components clearly — no fogging, no crushing. Back panel graphics, including the trilingual text and Solomon Grundy assembly diagram, are clean throughout.
The black-and-white finish isn't just a cosmetic swap — it fundamentally changes how the sculpt reads. The articulated Arkham City suit, praised by community reviewers for its fidelity to the in-game design, gains a graphic-novel quality in monochrome that the standard colored release simply doesn't have.
