Where the standard release dressed Batman in all-black, this Target-exclusive flips the palette entirely — a muted grey bodysuit with a high-contrast yellow chest insignia and utility belt, layered with deliberate distressed paint work that sells the narrative of a Batman who has been through the fire and kept fighting. It's a shelf presence that reads differently than anything else in the early DC Multiverse run.

The figure itself is a strong example of what made this line's collector positioning credible from day one. At 7 inches, it sits naturally alongside contemporaries in the DC Multiverse lineup. The 22 points of articulation give it genuine display flexibility — dynamic poses are achievable in a way that earlier DC collector lines rarely managed at this price point. The battle-damage deco is applied with intention: scuffs and wear marks are concentrated on the torso and legs, reinforcing the story rather than reading as production noise. The yellow utility belt segments and chest bat-symbol anchor the grey costume visually, giving it a Golden Age callback that fits the Metal storyline's tone.

This copy is carded in its original window box packaging. We assessed it firsthand before listing. The clear plastic display window has a wrinkled spot near the bottom right corner, with a few additional wrinkles along the right and top edges. A long crease runs through the black cardboard to the right of the DC logo on the front face. A brown tape stain is present on the bottom of the box near the left half. The hanger tab shows light shelf wear consistent with retail display. The box back is intact, carrying the full trilingual "Collect Them All" wave lineup and the collectible trading card callout — confirmation of the line's display-grade identity from its formative era. The 'Dark Nights: Heavy Metal Midnight Cover Edition' subtitle is printed clearly on the box back, distinguishing this SKU from the standard battle-damage offering.
