Frank Miller's 1986 graphic novel reshaped Batman mythology permanently, and Carrie Kelley — the scrappy, self-appointed Robin at its heart — remained one of the most under-represented characters in the action figure market for decades. McFarlane Toys addressed that gap directly with this 2021 DC Multiverse wave, delivering what collector communities widely regard as the most articulated and faithful mass-market Carrie Kelley Robin produced to date in the 7-inch scale.

This is figure 2 of 4 in the Batman: The Dark Knight Returns wave. Packaged in McFarlane's collector-oriented black-and-blue window box format — a clamshell-insert box rather than a traditional blister card — the presentation reflects the premium positioning of the line. The figure features 22 points of articulation, capturing the dynamic posing potential that Frank Miller's energetic panel compositions demand. The sculpt renders Carrie's classic red-and-green costume with the yellow utility belt accurately, along with her signature orange hair and yellow cape.

A standout feature of this wave is the Collect to Build mechanic: each figure in the set includes one of four pieces needed to assemble a fully articulated Horse BAF with 10 moving parts — one of the very few animal Build-A-Figures produced in the modern collector market. This Robin package includes the horse torso/body section (piece 2 of 4), making it an essential acquisition for BAF completionists aiming to recreate the iconic mounted Batman imagery straight from Miller's art. Condition is used/vintage. Our hands-on assessment found scuffing and light scratching present across all sides of the clear plastic window display. A slight wrinkle is visible at the bottom right corner of the box front. The interior plastic clamshell tray shows a crack near the top center. The figure and included accessories appear undisturbed inside the packaging. Buyers focused on the figure itself or BAF completion will find the contents intact; display collectors should review the condition photos carefully before purchasing.
