Barbara Gordon's Batgirl has long been a cornerstone of any serious Batman-family display, and Mattel's 2011 Batman Legacy Edition Series 2 release gave adult DC collectors a dedicated, collector-targeted card presentation for her classic black-and-yellow costume. Launched as a sub-brand under the DC Universe umbrella and debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, the Legacy Edition line was purpose-built to bridge Mattel's earlier DC Superheroes tooling with the DC Universe Classics aesthetic — making this entry a genuine piece of Mattel DC history.
This figure is vintage carded and presented in the line's distinctive dual-branded Batman/DC Universe blister card with an angled clamshell. The card front carries the "Legacy Edition" and "Batgirl" nameplates over a Gotham City bat-signal cityscape background, along with a starburst badge calling out the exclusive Detective Comics-era comic book poster insert — visible through the side panel in our photos. The card back features a full comic-art render of Barbara Gordon in action, her character bio ("Secret. Skilled. Crimefighter."), and wave thumbnail images of Batman and Catwoman, completing the Series 2 lineup context. Item no. W1790 / Assortment W1797.
