Original Trilogy completists and droid-focused collectors have long coveted R2-Q5 — the black-and-bronze Imperial astromech stationed aboard the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi. When Hasbro's Power of the Jedi line (2000–2002) finally delivered the first widely distributed single-carded release of this character, it became one of the standout entries in a line already celebrated for sharp sculpts and broad saga-spanning character selection. POTJ intentionally reached back across all six films, replacing the short-lived Comm-Tech chip with collector-friendly Jedi Force File booklets, and R2-Q5 exemplified that ambition perfectly.
This is a vintage mint-on-card example on the Collection 2 green starburst blister card (Asst. No. 84455 / Item No. 84629). The bubble presents well, housing the black-and-bronze droid figure alongside a holographic Death Star II display piece on a clear stand — an accessory that sets this release apart from later versions of the character. The 8-page Jedi Force File booklet remains intact inside the bubble, and the 10 Jedi Master Points proof-of-purchase is present on the reverse. Card back features the full 14-figure Collection 2 checklist. From the images, the card shows some edge and corner wear consistent with vintage age, while the bubble retains good clarity with the figure and accessory undisturbed inside.
