The New 52 Suicide Squad Captain Boomerang Action Figure (2014 DC Collectibles)
For DC Collectibles completists and New 52 devotees, this Captain Boomerang figure is one of the harder pieces to track down from the three-figure Suicide Squad wave. Released during DC's landmark New 52 publishing initiative (2011–2016), the line captured the squad's redesigned comic looks before the 2016 film redirected collector demand toward movie-based product. Boomerang is the least-prominently marketed figure of the trio — wave-mate Harley Quinn drove most of the retail attention — making mint-on-card examples genuinely scarcer in the secondary market. This is one of relatively few dedicated Captain Boomerang figures produced at the modern collector scale.
This example presents in vintage condition on its original black blister card, featuring the bold Suicide Squad logo and red target motif on the front. The card shows honest age-appropriate wear consistent with comic-shop shelf stock of the era; the bubble remains fully intact and secure, keeping the figure undisplayed inside. The cardback showcases the full wave with images of Harley Quinn and Deadshot under an "Also Available" banner. The figure itself — sculpted by Phil Ramirez — stands approximately 6.75 inches tall and faithfully renders Boomerang's New 52 costume: dark trenchcoat with teal trim, blue cap, and his signature boomerangs. Distribution was limited primarily to comic specialty shops via Diamond Comic Distributors, keeping overall production exposure low.
