For WWF Golden Era collectors, the Rhythm & Blues variant of Greg "The Hammer" Valentine has been one of the most requested deep-cut releases in modern retro toy history. Mattel finally answered that call with this Mattel Creations online exclusive, part of the "Lost Legends" themed Retro Wave 3 — first teased at SDCC 2022. The figure captures Valentine's late-'80s tag-team persona alongside Honky Tonk Man in all the chunky, action-feature-driven glory that deliberately homages the original Hasbro WWF line, making it an essential companion piece for anyone building out that era's roster.
This example is presented on its original card in vintage condition. The card front features the classic retro-styled WWE logo, a photo backdrop of Valentine in his music-note-adorned white jacket, and a "Real Superstar Action / Hammer Slammer!" callout badge. The figure itself wears the iconic Rhythm & Blues ring gear — white jacket with blue musical notes, black trunks, white boots, and signature sunglasses — and includes an acoustic guitar accessory.
