DC Multiverse Deathstorm (Blackest Night) Action Figure – Collect to Build: Atrocitus

Geoff Johns' Blackest Night reshaped DC's cosmic mythology when it hit shelves in 2009, and collectors who followed that story knew Deathstorm — the grotesque Black Lantern fusion of Professor Martin Stein and Ronnie Raymond — was one of its most unsettling creations. For over a decade, the character had no representation at the 7-inch collector scale. McFarlane Toys changed that in 2022 with this DC Multiverse wave, making it the first mainstream mass-market release of Deathstorm at any major retail scale. That distinction alone makes this a meaningful piece for fans of the event.

This is a vintage carded example in the wave's closed-front window box format. The packaging carries the signature black-and-blue Blackest Night colorway, with sub-branding running across all four panels and crisp DC Multiverse and McFarlane Toys logos on the front. The clear plastic display window allows full visibility of the figure and all contents without opening. Per our condition assessment, light scratching and scuffing is present on the plastic display window — the card structure and bubble are intact. All text callouts remain clearly legible, including the trilingual 22 moving parts notation on the upper left panel.

As Figure 2 of 4 in the Atrocitus Collect-to-Build wave, this carded example carries particular weight for completists. Deathstorm contributes the torso and shoulder assembly — the structural core of the Atrocitus build — and the back panel's part silhouette diagram highlights Figure 2 in blue for easy identification. The BAF parts remain sealed inside alongside the figure, which matters for collectors who need an intact, carded source for those pieces. Loose Deathstorm figures from this wave frequently circulate without the BAF components, making a complete carded example the more reliable find.

The figure itself holds up as a standout sculpt within the line. Deathstorm's Black Lantern uniform is rendered in deep black with the signature white chest ring detail, and the skull-faced, horned head sculpt translates the character's reanimated appearance from the comics faithfully. Twenty-two points of articulation allow for dynamic display out of package, though the box's visual impact makes carded display an equally compelling option. Through the window you can clearly see the Blackest Night collectible trading card, the Atrocitus BAF head, the red fabric-effect cape piece, and the Black Lantern power battery accessory.
