Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Michaelangelo (Retro Classic Rerelease) (2021 Playmates Toys)
For collectors who grew up with the original 1988 Playmates TMNT line, this 2021 retro rerelease of Michaelangelo is the closest thing to turning back the clock. Playmates faithfully recreated the classic single-card format — right down to the iconic "Heroes in a Half Shell!" tagline, the vibrant comic-style card artwork, and the beloved Vital Tortistics bio panel on the back — capturing the essence of the toy that defined a generation of TMNT fandom alongside the 1987 animated series.
The figure is presented on card in very good overall condition, bubble intact and card art displaying cleanly. Savvy collectors will note the 2021 remake carries a slightly less glossy finish compared to the vintage 1988 original — a detail that distinguishes this retro rerelease for those building a display alongside true first-run pieces. The card back retains every charming detail: the four-panel "Evolution of the Turtles" origin strip, the "Clip and Collect" lineup of all four turtles, and the full Vital Tortistics rundown listing Nunchukus, Turtle Fist Daggers, Ninja Stars, and Kama as Mikey's weapons of choice.
This single-card edition was part of a broader 2021 retro wave that also appeared in two-pack and Walmart Exclusive formats, making the standalone carded version the display-friendly pick for shelf collectors. Whether you're filling a gap from childhood or building a dedicated retro TMNT run, Michaelangelo — the Wild & Crazy Turtle — makes an essential addition. The complete weapon accessory tree is sealed in the bubble alongside the figure, offering a crisp, display-ready package straight out of the era that started it all.

Jays is my first stop in collecting. I preorder things through Walmart, Amazon, Hasbro Pulse, etc., but Jays always seem to get the items and either meet or beat the other companies pricing. I always end up cancelling my pre-orders and going with Jays. Better selection, price and MUCH MUCH better shipping quality. You can't even compare anyone else's shipping and packing to Jays. And that's why Jay's blows them all out of the water.
Great fast shipping, packaging with care. I am definitely buying from Jay's again! Such peace of mind knowing my items will arrive minty. 5 stars!
Perfect and careful packaging, shipped super quick. Thank you, will definitely be following the store!
Didn't pull any punches in item description. Came extremely fast and well packed. Extremely happy being a first time buyer! Thank you.
I've been buying from Jay's for a while now and I am never disappointed with the experience. Prices that can't be beat, easy PayPal option, and lots of bubble wrap surrounding the products. The fact that they go out of their way to make consumers happy keeps me coming back.
This is my 3rd or 4th time I have ordered from Jay's. The orders are always correct and arrive pretty quick and packaged extremely well. Best in the industry.

Most in-stock orders placed before 12 PM CST ship the same day. We’re label-printing, box-packing machines — without skimping on quality. Your tracking number will probably show up before you’ve even closed the tab.
Every item gets collector-grade treatment: bubble wrap, proper padding, and zero envelope crimes. We pack like your grail’s riding shotgun with us — damage rate is under 1%.
Yep. We’ve been hunting plastic treasures since the ‘90s. We speak fluent collector (MOC, BAF, grail hunting), we’ve camped outside stores for midnight releases, and we run this place like the shop we always wished existed. Professional enablers at your service. 😎
30 days to decide if it’s true love. Not happy? Full refund to your original payment method. Damaged? We replace or refund fast. Just keep items in the condition you got them, and we’ll make it right — because the only drama in collecting should be choosing a display pose. One exception: trading card game product is final sale, since a sealed box can’t be verified once it leaves our hands.
Calling dibs costs you $0 today — we only charge your card when it ships. No awkward “I paid months ago” limbo. Mixing in-stock + pre-orders? In-stock ships now; pre-orders ship together once the last one lands, and shipping’s charged on each leg (pro tip: check ship dates before combining pre-orders). Dates can shift — we’ll keep you posted faster than Spider-Man slings webs. And if we ever can’t deliver (rare), you’re not charged a dime.
