The album's sinister artwork introduced a key figure in Night Demon's pantheon of rogues, Eugene. A black-clad figure shrouded in darkness save for his burning eyes and menacing axe, Eugene is the true demon of the night. The lethal power of axe-crazy Eugene is further enshrined in the "Blood Sacrifice" horror-themed comic that accompanied the release of Curse of the Damned. Lest there be any residual doubt, you'd best heed the band's warning about Eugene: "Look behind you / He's coming to get you / With his axe in his hands ..."
