WWE Retro "Mean" Gene Okerlund Action Figure (2021 Mattel)
Golden Era WWF collectors have long sought a Mean Gene Okerlund figure worthy of the shelf, and Mattel's WWE Retros line delivers exactly that. Released in 2021, this Wave 1 entry is a deliberate love letter to the classic Hasbro WWF figures of the late 1980s — adopting the same chunky, stylised sculpt language and action-feature gimmick that defined an entire generation of wrestling toys. Okerlund's inclusion alongside on-card wave-mates "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Cowboy" Bob Orton, and Mr. T recreates the WrestleMania I era in miniature, making this one of the more thematically cohesive retro releases Mattel has produced.
This is a vintage carded example, presented on the original Official WWE Retros blister card. The card front features the bold retro-style WWE logo, a full-colour photo of Mean Gene, and the figure sealed in its bubble — sculpted in a dark suit with red tie, holding his signature microphone, and wearing a WWE logo on the lapel. The pull-back arm action feature — "Deliver a Hard-Hitting Interview" — is called out on both the card front and back with a diagram. Card graphics and bubble are assessed first-hand as part of our condition evaluation; numeric grades are held in product metafields rather than stated here.
Sourced and assessed directly by Jay's Toys, this is an authentic Mattel-licensed release (Asst. HDX83 / HDX84, ©2021 WWE). Mean Gene Retro figures are actively pursued by Golden Era collectors, and this Wave 1 card — with its WrestleMania I-era cardback roster — carries strong display and completion appeal. Every order inspected and packed for the shelf — because we collect this stuff too.
In-stock orders go out fast. No weeks-long waits, no vague timelines.
Not what was described? We make it right. No arguments, no hassle.
Every review here is Judge.me–verified — no cherry-picking, no edits. Just collectors who got their figures mint instead of mangled, and came back to say so.
Jays is my first stop in collecting. I preorder things through Walmart, Amazon, Hasbro Pulse, etc., but Jays always seem to get the items and either meet or beat the other companies pricing. I always end up cancelling my pre-orders and going with Jays. Better selection, price and MUCH MUCH better shipping quality. You can't even compare anyone else's shipping and packing to Jays. And that's why Jay's blows them all out of the water.
Great fast shipping, packaging with care. I am definitely buying from Jay's again! Such peace of mind knowing my items will arrive minty. 5 stars!
Perfect and careful packaging, shipped super quick. Thank you, will definitely be following the store!
Didn't pull any punches in item description. Came extremely fast and well packed. Extremely happy being a first time buyer! Thank you.
I've been buying from Jay's for a while now and I am never disappointed with the experience. Prices that can't be beat, easy PayPal option, and lots of bubble wrap surrounding the products. The fact that they go out of their way to make consumers happy keeps me coming back.
This is my 3rd or 4th time I have ordered from Jay's. The orders are always correct and arrive pretty quick and packaged extremely well. Best in the industry.

Most in-stock orders placed before 12 PM CST ship the same day. We’re label-printing, box-packing machines — without skimping on quality. Your tracking number will probably show up before you’ve even closed the tab.
Every item gets collector-grade treatment: bubble wrap, proper padding, and zero envelope crimes. We pack like your grail’s riding shotgun with us — damage rate is under 1%.
Yep. We’ve been hunting plastic treasures since the ‘90s. We speak fluent collector (MOC, BAF, grail hunting), we’ve camped outside stores for midnight releases, and we run this place like the shop we always wished existed. Professional enablers at your service. 😎
30 days to decide if it’s true love. Not happy? Full refund to your original payment method. Damaged? We replace or refund fast. Just keep items in the condition you got them, and we’ll make it right — because the only drama in collecting should be choosing a display pose. One exception: trading card game product is final sale, since a sealed box can’t be verified once it leaves our hands.
Calling dibs costs you $0 today — we only charge your card when it ships. No awkward “I paid months ago” limbo. Mixing in-stock + pre-orders? In-stock ships now; pre-orders ship together once the last one lands, and shipping’s charged on each leg (pro tip: check ship dates before combining pre-orders). Dates can shift — we’ll keep you posted faster than Spider-Man slings webs. And if we ever can’t deliver (rare), you’re not charged a dime.
