Avengers: Doomsday Marvel Legends Checklist — Every Figure in Wave 1

Hasbro opened preorders on the Avengers: Doomsday Marvel Legends wave on Sunday, July 27, and by Tuesday morning three of the six figures were gone from Amazon, Entertainment Earth, and Hasbro Pulse. If you were at work when the 1:00 PM ET drop happened, you already know how that went.

We ordered deep on this one. Here's the full wave, what actually comes in each box, when they ship, and — because this is the part nobody else will tell you straight — which ones are worth your $27.99 first.

What's in Avengers: Doomsday Marvel Legends Wave 1

Six 6-inch figures, all $27.99 MSRP, all revealed at San Diego Comic-Con on July 27, 2026:

• Doctor Doom — 2 accessories (2 alternate hands)
• Thor — 3 accessories (alternate head, Mjolnir, Stormbreaker)
• Cyclops — 4 accessories (2 alternate hands, alternate visor, optic blast effect)
• Gambit — 6 accessories (3 alternate hands, bo staff, 2 kinetic card effects)
• Shang-Chi — 6 accessories (4 alternate hands, 2 Ten Rings power effects)
• Captain America (Sam Wilson) — 2 accessories (shield, backpack)

That's the case. Everything else you've seen attached to Doomsday — Magneto, the Fantastic Four two-packs, The Thing — is an exclusive going somewhere other than general retail. We break those out below so you know what you're actually chasing.

When do the Avengers: Doomsday figures come out?

This is where a lot of the coverage is getting sloppy, so let's separate two dates that keep getting mashed together.

Hasbro itself has only committed to "Fall 2026." The November 2026 date you're seeing everywhere comes from retailer estimated-arrival fields — ours included — and it's the best information available. We're publishing it because it's what we've got, not because Hasbro stamped it.

Be realistic about that: Marvel Legends ship windows move. A wave tied this tightly to a December 18 theatrical release has more pressure to land on time than most, and figures for a tentpole Marvel film almost always beat the movie to shelves. But if a wave slips, it slips. We'll update this page when the date firms up, and if you've preordered from us you'll hear from a human, not an automated "your order has been delayed" email.

There's no Build-A-Figure — and that changes how you buy this wave

For a flagship MCU film wave, this is genuinely unusual. No BAF. No sixth-of-a-torso in the Doom box. Nothing to complete.

Most collectors we've talked to are fine with it, and honestly so are we — BAF economics have quietly meant paying for six figures to get one you may not want. But it has a real consequence for how you should approach preordering:

The flip side, if you're a completist: full sets will be easier to assemble later, because fewer people are buying full cases out of BAF obligation. Less artificial scarcity on the figures nobody's chasing.

Every figure in the wave, and who it's actually for

Doctor Doom

The reason this wave exists. Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom is the single biggest swing Marvel Studios has taken since the Snap, and this is the first Marvel Studios Doctor Doom in the Marvel Legends line. The sculpt leans classic — hooded cloak, riveted mask, the silhouette everyone wanted rather than a redesign nobody asked for.

The accessory load is thin: two alternate hands and that's it. At $27.99 you're paying for the character and the sculpt, not the box contents. Nobody buying this figure cares, and the sellout data proves it — Doom was the first to go at every major retailer.

Verdict: Buy it. If you buy one figure from this wave, this is the one, and it will be the hardest to find at retail in November.

Gambit

Channing Tatum's Gambit has been a running joke in X-Men fandom for over a decade — a movie that never happened, a character stuck in development limbo since 2014. He's finally on screen, and this is the first Marvel Legends figure of the film version.

It's also the best-value box in the wave, tied with Shang-Chi: six accessories including three alternate hands, the bo staff, and two translucent pink kinetic card effects. The trench coat sculpt is the detail piece here — soft-looking folds on a hard plastic coat is a hard thing to pull off at this scale.

Verdict: Buy it. Sold out fast on the first day, has a fanbase that's been waiting twelve years, and it's genuinely well accessorized.

Cyclops

James Marsden back in the visor, in a blue-and-yellow tactical suit that looks a great deal more like the comics than anything the Fox films ever put him in. This is the first Marvel Legends figure of Marsden's Cyclops — the only prior toy of this actor's version was a Toy Biz release from the 2000 film, which is a different line and a very different era of plastic.

Four accessories: two alternate hands, an alternate visor, and a translucent red optic blast effect that plugs into it. The effect-piece visor is the right call; peg-in blasts on the standard visor always looked bolted-on.

Verdict: Buy it, especially if you're building an X-Men shelf. Third of the three that sold out day one.

Shang-Chi

Simu Liu's second Marvel Legends outing — the first was the 2021 Legend of the Ten Rings wave — in a red tunic with two translucent Ten Rings power effects. Four alternate hands means you can actually pose the martial arts, which is the entire point of a Shang-Chi figure and something the 2021 release fumbled.

Six accessories for $27.99 makes this the quiet value pick of the wave. It's also still widely available, which tells you where collector attention went.

Verdict: Underrated. If you skipped the 2021 figure or want the definitive posable version, this is a better figure at the same price.

Thor

Chris Hemsworth's Thor with both weapons — Mjolnir and Stormbreaker in the same box — plus an alternate screaming head. That's meaningful, because past MCU Thor releases have made you choose, and the dual-wield pose is the one everyone builds.

Thor is the most-released character in Marvel Legends history and the sculpt is not a radical departure. Whether you need another one is a question only your shelf can answer.

Verdict: Buy it if the dual-weapon loadout closes a gap for you. Skip it if you already have a Thor you like.

Captain America (Sam Wilson)

The most honest thing we can say about this one is that the collector community has been rough on it. Anthony Mackie's Cap gets the shield and the backpack, two accessories total, no alternate hands, and the sculpt is close enough to the Brave New World release that a lot of people are calling it a repack.

If you don't have a Sam Wilson Cap, it's a perfectly good Sam Wilson Cap. If you have the 2025 one, look closely at photos before you commit — we'd rather you skip it than open it and feel like you wasted twenty-eight dollars.

Verdict: Skip unless you need the character. This is the one figure in the wave where we'd tell you to save the money.

What's not in the case: Magneto and the Fantastic Four

Four more Doomsday figures exist, and none of them are coming through general retail:

• Magneto (Ian McKellen) — Amazon exclusive, $27.99, two alternate hands, preorders opened alongside the mainline wave. First Marvel Legends figure of McKellen's Magneto. If you want it, Amazon is the only door.
• The Thing — Walmart, $27.99, two alternate hands and a bearded alternate head.
• Mister Fantastic & H.E.R.B.I.E. two-pack — Walmart, price not yet announced.
• Invisible Woman & Human Torch two-pack — Walmart, price not yet announced. Torch comes with four flame effects, Sue with a force-shield effect.

The Walmart figures had not opened preorders as of July 30. Sourcing on whether they're Walmart-only or Walmart-plus-hobby-channel is genuinely contradictory right now — we're chasing that down with our distributor and we'll update this page the moment we know. If they come to the hobby channel, we'll carry them.

Worth flagging separately so you don't get confused shopping: the Iron Studios statues and Hot Toys 1/6 figures announced at the same show are different product lines entirely, at different price tiers. Great pieces. Not this wave.

If you're only buying some of them

Our actual ranking, based on three days of watching what sold out where:

1. Doctor Doom — the character of the movie, first MCU Legends version, gone everywhere first.
2. Gambit — twelve years of pent-up demand, best accessory count in the wave.
3. Cyclops — first Legends figure of Marsden's version, and X-Men shelves are being rebuilt right now.
4. Shang-Chi — the value pick nobody's talking about.
5. Thor — good figure, crowded character.
6. Captain America (Sam Wilson) — only if you need him.

If you're buying for a kid rather than a shelf, flip that order: Thor and Cap are the recognizable ones, and neither has small effect pieces that will end up in a floor vent.

What we have right now

Here's the part that matters. Doom, Gambit, and Cyclops sold out at the major online retailers within hours of the drop. We still have all six.
